Making Essential Eight compliance achievable for every Australian small business
Mission Statement:
CyberSmart360 exists because Australia’s 2.5 million small businesses deserve professional-grade cyber security compliance without the professional-grade price tag. We’re building the tools that make frameworks like the Essential Eight accessible, affordable and actionable for the businesses that need them most.
Why we built CyberSmart360
Cyber security compliance in Australia has a gap problem.
On one side are genuinely effective frameworks like the ACSC Essential Eight. Some government tenders and contracts now ask suppliers to demonstrate it. Many insurers want evidence of the controls it covers. And with cybercrime costing the average Australian small business $56,600 per reported incident (ASD Annual Cyber Threat Report 2024–25, self-reported), the need is real and growing.
On the other side are the business owners — builders, accountants, dentists, consultants — who don’t have a dedicated IT security team and can’t justify $5,000 to $15,000 for a consultant to assess them against a framework they’ve never heard of.
So the businesses most exposed to cyber threats are often the least equipped to protect themselves. Not because they don’t care, but because the tools and the expertise were priced and built for large enterprises.
CyberSmart360 closes that gap. We’ve taken the Essential Eight and built a self-service platform that translates the technical controls into plain language, guides you through the assessment, uses AI to analyse your results and build a remediation plan, and produces audit-ready reports.
No consultants. No jargon. No six-week wait for a report. Just practical, affordable compliance that works on a phone between jobs.
How we're different
CyberSmart360 isn’t an enterprise product with a “small business” tier bolted on. Built in Queensland, every feature, question and report is designed from the ground up for Australian small and medium businesses. We validate ABN and ACN numbers, we use industry-specific language that makes sense to a tradesperson or a practice manager, and your data is stored in Australia, in DigitalOcean’s Sydney data centre.
Plain language, not technical jargon
The Essential Eight uses terms like “application control,” “macro settings” and “multi-factor authentication.” We translate every control into everyday language with examples from your industry. A plumber gets different examples than an accountant, because the technology in a plumbing business looks nothing like the technology in an accounting firm. The same plain-language approach applies to the ACSC Security Principles, which the platform also supports.
AI-powered analysis and guidance
When you submit your assessment, the AI reviews your responses and delivers a full compliance report in about 60 seconds. It doesn’t stop at naming the gaps — it generates plain-language “how-to” guides for every non-compliant item, with cost estimates, timeframes, and clear flags for what you can handle yourself versus what’s worth a professional.
A fraction of the cost
A traditional consultant assessment is typically quoted at $5,000 to $15,000. CyberSmart360 gives you the analysis, the remediation plan and the audit-ready reports you need from $49 / month — Founding Member rate, Standard pricing is $89/month from 1st November 2026 — and you can reassess as you improve.
What we stand for
Accessibility
Cyber security compliance shouldn’t need a degree in information security or a five-figure budget. We build tools for people who run businesses, not IT departments.
Transparency
Straightforward pricing. No hidden fees, no per-assessment charges, and no upsells dressed up as features. We tell you what things cost, and we don’t charge more than we said we would.
Data Sovereignty
Your data is stored in Australia, in DigitalOcean’s Sydney data centre. And because we use reference-based evidence tracking, your sensitive documents stay where they are — you record where your evidence lives rather than uploading it to us.
Practical Security
We practise what we assess. CyberSmart360 is built to OWASP secure coding practices, with TLS encryption, mandatory multi-factor authentication, strict data isolation between customers, and three-layer audit logging. We take the security of your compliance data as seriously as you take the security of your business.
